PARENTS:  DAVE ELLIOTT AND GAIL SEARS WILL BE STAYING UP ALL NIGHT TO CHAPERON THIS EVENT.  THE CHURCH WILL BE LOCKED AT MIDNIGHT AND KIDS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE THE BUILDING.  THIS IS AN ALL NIGHTER AND EVENTS ARE PLANNED EVERY COUPLE OF HOURS TO KEEP THE KIDS BUSY.  IF YOUR TEEN CHOOSES TO SLEEP THERE WILL BE SEPARATE SLEEPING AREAS FOR GUYS AND GIRLS.  THEY WILL BE MONITORED CLOSELY!!!  CALL DAVE ELLIOTT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT (403)481-7483.

BREAKING STORY!!

US leaders mysteriously disappear from Copenhagen climate talks this morning.  Hidden video shot minutes after their disappearance shows President Obama driving his daughter's Jeep, heading for the Canadian border. A confidential source within the White House IT department said that minutes before his departure, the President's laptop was used to access a Canadian based youth blog called "Crazy Youth Events". The laptop was found early this afternoon in a nearby cleaning closet.  Local authorities will not comment on a possible connection between the Diamond Dog song found playing on the President's laptop and their alleged disappearance. Reliable sources report hearing the same Christian rap song playing loudly in the President's Jeep, as the US leaders sped through the crowed streets of Copenhagen. The Secret Service is on high alert!!!  Only questions remain!!! :)

YOUTH KETTLE DAY - SATURDAY DEC DEC 12

WHAT DOES EVERY HIP TEEN WANT TO DO IN THEIR SPARE TIME??????

STAND AROUND AT SALVATION ARMY KETTLES AND RING BELLS!  

This is a really important day because we all have a chance to help those who are in need.  The kettles raise the thousands of dollars needed to run the Center Of Hope in Calgary.  Here's some of the awesome stuff that they do:

*Provide shelter for up to 267 homeless people.

*Provide food for the needy.

*Help people that can't pay their utilities.

*Respond to emergency and crisis situations.

THESE GUYS ROCK...AND WE REALLY NEED TO HELP OTHERS AT CHRISTMAS TIME......THAT'S WHAT JESUS WOULD DO!!

SO...IF YOU WANT TO HELP...HERE'S WHAT YOU DO:

1.  FACEBOOK DAVE TO SAY THAT YOU ARE ABLE HELP WITH A KETTLE ON SATURDAY...YOU'LL BE PAIRED OFF WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND WILL MAN A KETTLE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS.  WE'LL LET YOU KNOW WHEN YOU'LL BE WORKING SHORTLY...DON'T WORRY...WE WON'T FORGET! :)

Where: Glenmore Temple (The other Salvation Army church in Calgary.)

When: Friday 7 pm to 9 pm
Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.

What's Up: We are talking about some exciting Social Justice stuff! Wow! You might actually learn something!

Hot Topics: Child soldiers....What we can do.......Fair Trade.......and lot's more!

Lunch: Saturday from 12pm to 1pm. It's NOT included, so bring some cash or a bag lunch.

Donation: Would be awesome if you guys could bring a $2 donation.

Hey guys! There's no Hub on Tuesday so we're going to have a movie night instead. Movie starts 7:00pm at the church.

KIROS: THE LOW-DOWN!

OK! It wasn't what we expected, but it was awesome. Kiros jump started the event with some rockin praise and worship music. Then Marcel took the stage....he was high energy, funny, and challenged us to give our lives to God. There was supposed to be a Kiros concert, but we just ended up praying and praising God. Sarah says we're the blubbering youth group.....guess that means we have a heart for God. Everyone loved this event, so next year, we're planning to stay the whole weekend!

Huge Thank you to Aaron's mum for helping us with transportation.

Big thanks to all of the parents for their input regarding this event. It's such a privilege to be able work with your kids. Hope we see you at church someday soon!

KIROS is an awesome band playing in Vulcan, AB on Nov 6.09. The concert is part of an annual youth event called "Youth Explosion". Hope you can all come!
